It’s okay to not be okay.
The statement feels like a cliche at this point because of how often it’s used, but at the end of the day, it’s still true. Mental health is something we all deal with. Even when it’s not the most pressing, it can still be a real issue. That’s what Taska Black and Violet Skies are talking about on their most recent collaboration “When I Come Home”. Backdropped by a smooth production that shimmers with top of the pop gloss and sleek indie flair, it was a product of the quarantining we collectively endured as a world last year. With things finally looking up, it’s a breathe of fresh air to be able to look back on the feelings we were all feeling just a year ago, and “When I Come Home” is the perfect record to groove the blues away to this summer.

“This was such an easy song to write, maybe 2 hours and it was all done. We felt super connected to it immediately and are so happy it’s coming out. It’s about dealing with your issues, even the ones that aren’t huge or life changing, but they still need addressing and not hiding from them”
