The night before, I walked around the ranch and the fields were covered in flowers. The shimmering pollen was all over. I called her. I told her, meet me here. She said she would drive up with the sun, in the first hours of the day. We hadn’t slept much. She made us coffee, I didn’t drink any. She changed clothes and we ran outside. It was cloudy. It was so cloudy the flowers shied away but somehow, their colors were glistening. Cassy smiled. The sun was playing around. The skin on her face kept changing hues. She was the rainbow and the glorious rain, she was the ever changing sky reaching for unknown nuances. Perhaps she became a flower that day.
Cassandra, where do you come from?
I currently live deep in the Hill Country of Texas
What are you dreaming of?
I am dreaming of traveling full time, studying and practicing photography and writing.
What is the last adventure you were on?
I just returned from a two week trip in the Smokey Mountains. I took my converted van and dogs. I needed a breath of fresh air.
What is your favorite place to hide?
My favorite place to hide? This is funny to me because I am a hider. It really depends on what I’m hiding from and why. If it’s from the world to get some peace, I look for a space in nature where I can park my van and exist undetected. If I’m sad, and hiding from the source of those tears, I seek out water. Whether it’s a shower or going for a swim in a lake. Something about putting my head under water is very purifying.
“Love is complicated and pure. It’s forgiveness and understanding.”
What does love mean to you?
Love is complicated and pure. It’s forgiveness and understanding. You spend more time subconsciously thinking of what you can do for that person or being, than what they can do for you.
Where will you be traveling next?
I am planning a month long trip up the west coast, to the north. I plan to volunteer on some farms as well. I want to make it the most adventurous and educational trip I’ve taken.
What was the last book you read and loved?
The most recent book I read was Midnight Sun from the Twilight series. I loved the books when I was younger, so naturally I had to read it. And as daunting as my adult mind found it, the series will always hold a place in my heart.
What kind of weather makes you happy?
I really love all weather! They all have their benefits and effects on my day. Keeps things interesting.
Is there anyone you are missing? Who?
My grandfather. He’s the only reason I went into modeling to begin with. I promised him before he passed that I would at least give it a try. He was 102 when he passed away. I wish I could sit on the arm of his chair again and show him my work.
