Let´s start today’s Friday with some energizing grooves!

Metro is the lead single out of Knife Girl‘s same-titled debut EP Metro, and with its candy-coated swirl electropop genre mixing, is like immersing yourself in a never-withering late-night vibe. Behind this project is the 20 year old musician and songwriter Lili Aslo, who is also known for previous successful releases under the moniker olli and collaborations with Ryan Hemsworth, Blackbear, In Love With A Ghost, and Daniela Andrade.

Knife Girl tells us of the EP “I’ve compiled some songs I recorded at home the past year for this EP. Some are more goofy than others, but they all represent some part of me.” Already on the last track “give it 2 you” she showed her love for the 80s and this vibe of that bygone era radiates partly in a lot of her songs, which definitely makes the EP groovy.

Metro arrives via label Soliti on 2nd July 2021.

Hello from Berlin! I love freedom, travelling, long train rides, Stefan Zweig books, cats, colours, writing postcards, music, and movies à la Woody Allen and Wes Anderson. What makes me really happy is the seaside, sunrises and sunsets and having lots of time!
