We are very happy to welcome Giulia Mattioli on C-Heads. Together with Bianca the talented photographer has created an incredibly natural series. Enjoy!
“Last winter, back to when we were in lock down, I felt the urge of traveling as I was craving those carefree summer days spent at the beach. I’ve always been a nature lover – as a kid I grew up in the Tuscany countryside always running barefoot and jumping into rivers’ fresh water. Not being able to spend moments outside due to the pandemic restrictions felt like something deeply unnatural to me. That being said, I tried and made a “virtual trip”. I randomly started looking for beaches around my area on Google Maps, and in the middle of my research a specific little beach caught my eye. I’ve been dreaming about getting there since, and finally a few weeks ago that happened.
Down narrow the steep roads of Sirolo – a little Italian seaside village – lies a true gem, a cobblestone beach called Spiaggia Urbani. White cliffs, crystal clear water, boats covered up in white and blue striped covers, a nice little restaurant and cafe where you can have the best seafood and indulge in ice-cream.
Dressed in vintage swimsuits from the ’90s we jumped into fresh water, climbed up the white cliffs, and got lost into the deep blue sea. Stirring up childhood memories of looking for the most beautiful shells and little pebbles. We let the sun heat our bodies, fresh water cooled them, and we became one with nature again. After spending such a long time inside we could reconnect with our true, pure selves, and that felt like a breath of fresh air.
This story includes no make-up or team. Just real life captured on film.”
