“… we wrote this tune to remind everyone that it’s OK to forget the world and give into your emotions.”
A debut EP is probably one of the most special moments in the life of an artist. And the moment of bringing one’s own work to the public is probably also one of the most challenging. This will perhaps also be the case for Toronto based singer POLUN (寶麟), who has definitely been around in the music business for a while, but a debut is a debut, right? “Trillium” is the title of the EP and it’s inspired by his life journey and featuring some of his favorite collaborators. Last month he already released the first track out of it, “Higher Ground” which he recorded together with Gracie Ella.
Now the talented artist drops his second single “Today” and this time he teamed up with LU KALA. And we absolutely love that! The pop singer was born in Congo and raised in Toronto and is known for her great engagement for mental health, self care and female empowerment. She has one of those great voices to go with it, effortlessly mastering almost every genre and having her own distinctive charm.
“Today” is about it being okay to surrender, be vulnerable and allow feelings. A wonderful message. And listening to the shimmering colourful tune is so much fun! POLUN (寶麟) explains about the single: “Today, with LU KALA, is a powerful song about embracing your vulnerability in a relationship that’s slipping away. Love blinds us all and we wrote this tune to remind everyone that it’s OK to forget the world and give into your emotions.”
