Whenever I hear soulful jazz, I feel this blissful butterflies in my stomach. And I feel almost transported to another era. One that feels golden. I see myself dancing through the streets, enjoying the sparkling lights of the displays, and I can feel this specific energy of the bustling streets.
Exactly this magic fills the air when I play the music of Bahamian singer and songwriter Brettina. The currently Los Angeles based talented artist enchants me with her incredibly delicate intimacy voice and puts me under her spell. Brettina speaks about the inspiration behind her new song Spell: “Thinking you were/are comfortable and happy by yourself… until that brash, unwavering phenomenon call love, puts a spell on you. That special someone appears and there’s nothing you can do about it… except give in.”
