Maria is a Colombian photographer whose self-portraits have the purpose of questioning her own existence and the world around her.
“My self-portrait work is mostly driven by the need to obtain memory about specific times and about the pain caused by the impermanence of everything, the ephemerality of life and my interaction with this world. An act of reaffirmation, perhaps of a search for identity, the internal, existential and possibly eternal identity. It then becomes a living to recognize me.”
