The afterglow of matrimony is an elusive enigma, a prism refracting a myriad of emotions – joy, contentment, anticipation, and an inexpressible love. This photo series, captured by the newly married photographer, Ray Litsala, is an intimate tapestry woven from these myriad hues, an honest portrayal of the moments following a wedding.
The series begins at the end of April. Miho stands at the entrance of a plane, her face illuminated by a radiant smile. The joy is palpable, her eyes sparkling with uncontainable excitement. The world knows her as a model, represented by Metropolitan Models Group in Paris and Condenast in Tokyo, but in this moment, she is just a newlywed wife, stepping into a new chapter of life with unabashed joy.
This honeymoon series takes the viewer to the picturesque landscapes of Santorini, Greece. Captured on film, these photos blend the rustic charm of Polaroid with the timeless elegance of 35mm photography. The result is an enchanting tableau – cobalt-blue skies kissing the azure sea, whitewashed buildings dotting the landscape, and at the heart of it all, Miho, reveling in the bliss of her next adventure.
In collaboration with the lingerie brands “Manic Monday” and “HIKARI Underwear“, Miho dons pieces that resonate with her radiant aura. An orange top with black panties from Manic Monday, a green ensemble from HIKARI Underwear – each outfit accentuating her natural beauty and the joy of her newfound wedded bliss.
Late into the night, Ray would try to capture his feelings in words. A poem emerged:
“I live next to an angel. Feathers abound but I can’t write anymore.
Words fail me because my feelings can’t be described.
The extraordinary leaves us speechless. Right?
The incredible takes our breath away. Right?
I’m snorkeling in the big blue Twenty Thousand Leagues In the Sky
I get some air from her lips I think it’s not just a sweet dream
Ohayo Tenshi( Hello my angel )
My formula to check if I’ m awake, and if all this happiness is true.”
