In the heart of Jerusalem, a special house carries the memory of a woman known for her unique sense of style and distinctive fashion sense. This photographic series, by photographer Oz Shemesh, offers a journey through her private collection, preserved as a tangible reminder of her legacy. Each outfit, accessory, and piece of jewelry tells a story, collected over the years and now brought back to life in a unique fashion production.
The soul of this project is embodied by Assaf Melamed, responsible for makeup and hair, whose emotional connection to this series runs deep. The house and the clothes once belonged to his grandmother, the “Queen of Jerusalem” herself. The photo series, a labor of love, serves as a cherished souvenir for him. Assaf reflects, “Our queen. Queen Victoria teaches. The woman who taught me what aesthetics and style are. From the big details to the small details. I decided to put on a production that would commemorate the style, the uniqueness, the house and what she was.”
Stylist Bar Friedman brings out the individuality of the vintage collection, while model Tony Zouzout of Inch Models dons the clothes with a reverence befitting the original owner. The house, rich with vintage details, forms the perfect backdrop for this nostalgic journey.
Photographer Oz Shemesh shares the depth of this project, stating, “We took her clothes from her private closet, and together we created a production that gives her life forever.”
The series comes to life in moving images by Ziv Toledano, his video work adding another dimension to the tribute. Together, this talented team weaves a timeless story, about a woman whose sense of style and character continues to inspire.
