Born in 1989 in Tekirdağ, Turkey, Meriç Tuna is a photographer whose work subtly reveals the vibrant interactions between nature and humanity. In the bright spring light of Durusu, a northern district of Istanbul, he photographed model Derin Tarım of The Casting Killer. “Lately, guerilla-style shooting with a bare-bones crew has turned into a significant source of enjoyment for me,” he shares.
A lifelong lover of nature, Tuna integrates his adoration for the natural world into his photographic work. His portfolio displays a variety of settings—from green fields and blooming flowers to diverse landscapes and seascapes—all complemented with compelling portraits. “Being in nature is a constant source of new ideas and inspirations,” Tuna says, “It’s a well that never seems to run dry.”
Tuna’s educational background is as unique as his perspective. After majoring in Political Science at Bahçeşehir University, he pursued further education at the Digital Film Academy and SAE Istanbul, where he honed his skills in screenwriting, editing, and photography. A man of many talents, Tuna’s storytelling extends beyond photography—he also expresses his creative vision through writing, music, and film.
Finally, he presents a beautiful photo series filled with strength, tumultuous waves, energy, and the stunning beauty of Derin, an embodiment of his photographic passion.
