In a hauntingly mysterious series by Berlin and Paris based photographer Burcu Beaufort, the gorgeous muted colors of analog photography combine with the breathtaking beauty of Kris Gottschalk. Delving into the depths of fashion’s golden era, this series sets a moment that harks back to the ’70s and ’80s – a time of unbridled hedonism and revolutionary design. Let’s join in for a round of billiards!
Burcu tells: “Celebrating the golden age of disco, the collection blends ‘70s and ‘80s hedonism with modern design. The pieces are infused with the energy, vibrancy, and intensity of the legendary New York and Paris club scenes. Spanning from day to late night, the collection stands out with its bold spectrum of shades and textures. Splashes of deep purple, lilac, pop yellow, and green embody the joy of disco, while iconic black styles with unexpected cutouts captivate with their rich fabrications. Plush velvet, vibrant satin, and polished power knit – each of these materials is skillfully manipulated, twisted, and draped to perfection. Adding the final touch of ‘Galvanized’ embellishment are sleek chains of mirrored globes that feature prominently throughout the collection.”
