As the year draws to a close, it’s a time for reflection, a moment to look back and savor the memories we’ve created. In this spirit, we are happy to present to you a photography series born from a journey undertook last July. “This series, a blend of dance and photography, was conceived on the enchanting Breton island of Belle-Île-en-Mer, France. We are a duo based in Geneva, Switzerland – Julia Rieder, a dancer, and Sophie Millar, a photographer.”
Shot on film, this set invites you to delve into a world where the elegance of dance meets the raw beauty of nature. Each frame captures the island’s diverse charme, from its rugged coastal cliffs to its secluded beaches.
“In the quiet corners of Belle-Île-en-Mer, I found a rhythm that resonated with my soul, a dance that was as free as the sea and as wild as the wind,” says Julia Rieder.
“Photographing Julia in these settings wasn’t just about framing a subject in a landscape; it was about capturing a fleeting moment of connection, a rare harmony between human expression and the rhythm of nature,” Sophie reflects.
As we stand at the threshold of a new year, we hope this series inspires you to find your own rhythm and harmony in the world around you.
