“’Meant To Be’ is a record that for me captures so much of what I love about UK dance music. It’s always something I try to keep in mind when I’m making my music. We are in a time where the sound of music is getting more and more homogenized and although my music isn’t always perfect that’s a decision I make, I feel like it makes more sense to be me, than imitate whatever trend is happening right now.“ UK artist Jamie Reddington, aka Sound of Fractures, doesn’t see music as something that has to follow a trend, but simply to feel something.
And we can only agree to this. Music isn’t about chasing fads; it’s about raw emotion. Anyone who’s gotten lost in a song knows the power it holds. It becomes the soundtrack of our lives, weaving itself into our most intimate moments. “With ‘Meant To Be,’ the first taste of his upcoming album ‘Scenes,’ Sound of Fractures washes over us in waves of sound. The track flows in a calm, soothing style, weaving ambient synths with understated beats, and captures a hauntingly beautiful sense of longing and introspection. “‘Meant To Be’ is about growing as a person and how moments in your life can be so overwhelming at the time you can’t make sense of them but as you grow older you come to terms with how they contributed to making you who you are. They can make you more resilient, more compassionate and better equipped at how to deal with them in the future… and you understand it was meant to be that way.
A truly unique project, the forthcoming Sound of Fractures album exists as a collaborative process enabled by NFT/ web3 tools, encouraging fans to share their cherished memories and photographs in response to each track, transforming them into a unique collection of “Scenes“.
According to Reddington, “Music goes beyond sound; it taps into the memories and emotions it awakens. ‘Scenes’ gives a tangible shape to this connection and preserves it in a recognisable form for fans to own. Each song, along with its corresponding ‘Scene,’ will populate a digital gallery, serving as a record of how music intersects with life’s moments in today’s social media-driven world.”
