Ruth, what do you feel right before the camera starts rolling?
Before the camera starts rolling I visualize how the pictures are going to come out and that just gives me a boost of energy and excitement. I’m so excited every single time like it’s my very first time and the feeling is amazing, especially is there’s a theme for the shoot where I get to do crazy stuff.
How has being in front of the camera changed your perception of yourself?
Being in front of the camera gave me a lot of confidence to be honest, every single shoot really helps you open up more and more. Additionally to that it really has shown me that the way you feel at the moment really matters to the shoot, if your in your highest energy it just shows on camera. Your confidence vibrates through!
What’s the most memorable moment you’ve had during this photoshoot with Tamar?
An amazing and memorable moment that I had while a photo shoot with Tamar was when a guy stopped us in the middle of the shooting and told me how my aura reflect inside out. And honestly I feel like Tamar takes a big part of it. It is so important that the photographer makes the model feel comfortable enough and with Tamar I can definitely say she dose an amazing job doing it.
“Life has taught me… no matter what, you need to know how to find the peace in every situation… because life won’t always look bright.”
What lesson has life taught you that you think everyone should learn?
Life has thought me plenty of lessons, but I thing the most important one is how to be there for myself but still stay humble and kind. I came from a place that really had no other options then to grow and hold my own hand, and life has thought me that no matter what, you need to know how to find the peace in every situation, even though everything may fall apart around you, you got to learn how to stand up and be there for yourself because life won’t always looks bright. You got to know when to walk away from situations that take away your energy and the goodness of your heart in order to stay kind and humble, because in the moment you give away your energy it will take away your humble self. We should all remember to be good, be kind and “do everything with so much love in our heart that we would never do it any other way”.
Do you think love changes over time?
I believe that it depends, it depends what kind of love, is it love in a relationship? Is it your love for yourself? Yes, of course love changes, but if you put effort and time into it, it won’t change and that’s the key for love, a lot of people miss it even when it comes to their relationships with their partners or their relationships with themselves, we got to put time and effort into everything in order for it to keep on going, so I don’t think it’s the time that changes the love it’s us who change, and with that the love changes, it’s all in our hands.
“The most significant impact of social media on our daily lives is the fact that we take what we see online so personal and we want to be like what we see instead of living for ourselves and understanding what is best for us.”
What do you think is the most significant impact of social media on our daily lives?
I think the most significant impact of social media on our daily lives is on our personal life’s, we consume so much content every single day and we watch plenty of things online such as lifestyle, relationship family videos and such…
And the more we consume it, the more we let those videos affect our lives and make us think that its the way we need to live. So I really think that is the biggest effect on our daily lives is the fact, that we take what we see online so personal and we want to be like what we see instead of living for ourselves and understanding what is best for us. But it can really go both ways. It can you give us inspiration to do greater things and really accomplish our goals but then it can really distract us and even depress us sometimes.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Five years from now, I see myself being with my family back in Canada and really just exploring the world, getting to know new people. Approaching the modeling world all in! doing fashion weeks, runways, and all of the big things! I really do believe in myself full heartedly! Learning real-estate is something that I’ve been wanting to do since I was 10 years old, so I really think that is what I’m going to approach in my future but at the end of the day, I don’t know where life is going to take me and honestly, I’m not too stressed about it. I am just enjoying my journey because God has the best plan for me and it’s all in his hands!
