Pilar Victoria is only 18 years old, but she’s hardly a rookie. Having released her debut single, “Wilted Flower,” at just 13, the Argentine-American teenager has racked up millions of streams and reportedly major label interest as well. Her latest, “Dancing In The Sand,” arrives courtesy of a collaboration with Grammy-winning producer Happy Perez and a relationship that went awry. It’s a dreamy affair that beckons from the coast, carried sonically by a crisp acoustic guitar, punchy kick sample, and glossy lead vocal. Having spiked to 12,000 streams just two days after its birth, it’s apparent that Pilar could have an algorithmic darling on her hands. And unlike much of the stuff Spotify shuffles at you these days, it would make full sense if she did.

“‘Dancing in the sand’ was a song I wrote about realisations I had when being in a relationship that wasn’t meant for me.”
