In 2023, models Luisa and Chiara first crossed paths in Cape Town, unexpectedly becoming roommates for a month. Though strangers at first, their shared experiences forged an immediate bond, and their friendship blossomed. A year later, they reunited in Cape Town, this time choosing to live together, eager to relive the magic of their first encounter.
The idea of a beach shoot, celebrating their deepening friendship, was irresistible to both. They envisioned a fun, carefree morning by the ocean, capturing the essence of their connection. As they plan to share an apartment once again in 2025, their bond grows stronger despite their frequent travels, with most interactions happening through regular chats, phone calls, and shared laughs over funny reels. Now, they consider each other soul sisters, counting down the days until their next reunion.
Lance James Daniels, the photographer, reflects on the experience: “For the whole shoot, the energy was playful and light, and it was a pleasure documenting the friends’ interactions, everything flowing naturally. I wanted to capture as many candid moments as possible in addition to my pre-planned shots, and their chemistry made this super easy. It was a fun-filled morning for us all!”
The shoot was entirely captured on 35mm film, blending color and black-and-white shots.
