From a small town in Slovenia’s Carinthia (Koroška) region, Lina Cigler is proving that talent knows no boundaries. “Hi, my name is Lina Cigler. I am a 19-year-old girl from a small town called Ravne, which is located in Slovenia’s part of Koroška, sharing a border with Austria. I started singing when I was 12 years old. So far, I have written four original songs, which I have bravely introduced to various competitions with great success! Besides my music, I love expressing myself through modeling.” In our interview, she opens up about her creative journey, inspirations, and dreams for the future. Lina, you’ve shared how important music and art are in your life. Could you tell us about the early influences that sparked your passion for both modeling and singing?
Well, I have been singing since my early youth—it lit a fiery spark that still burns brightly. Furthermore, I fell in love with the camera during the filming of my first music video, which fueled my passion for pursuing a career in modeling.
What’s the most important lesson life has taught you that influences your music?
I struggled with expressing my emotions, so I gradually discovered that speaking through lyrics made it much easier for me to have a voice.
You hail from the Slovenian part of Carinthia. Where exactly?
I live in a small town called Ravne na Koroškem, which is located right in the middle of the Slovenian part of Carinthia. The town used to be called Gutenstein until the 1950s. It has fewer than 10,000 inhabitants and is the heart of the Mežica Valley, the center of the steel industry, right near the Austrian border—just a stone’s throw away. Unfortunately, I don’t speak German. (smiles)
“Hard work, dedication, and doing what you love can only bring success and even more happiness.”
You know, we are originally from Carinthia too, so I’m quite curious about it (smiles). Now living in Slovenia, can you imagine living somewhere else?
Great to hear, neighbor! Well, it certainly depends on my future career path, which is still written in the stars. But why not? I’m open to it!
What new projects or collaborations are you currently working on?
I work with quite a few small local companies—I do photoshoots and promote via social media. I also plan to apply for the Eurovision Song Contest, which is a large-scale singing competition that brings massive recognition. I’m hoping for the best!
What is the most important thing in life? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I believe that the most important thing in life is happiness! Based on that, I think hard work, dedication, and doing what you love can only bring success and even more happiness. You know, by doing good deeds, good things always come back to you. It’s the law of the universe.
