“Honestly, I just wake up thinking about how excited I am for the day, even if I don’t have plans.” A rare and freeing perspective—Georgie welcomes each day with curiosity. This intimate photo series captures her in the quiet, sun-drenched moments of her 1920s home in Hollywood, where light moves through the space as fluidly as her creative energy. Shot by Brook Power, the images reflect the beauty of presence, the ease of solitude, and the warmth of a space that feels truly lived in.
Georgie, what made you move to LA?
I was living in San Francisco going to art school and I started modeling while I was there. After two years I ended up getting more work down in LA, had an agency lined up and decided to drop out of school and move down here. I thought I’d be here for a year tops but eight years later I’m still here!
What have you been thinking about in the mornings when you wake up?
Honestly I just wake up thinking about how excited I am for the day, even if I don’t have plans, I love sitting alone with my tea in the mornings and deciding how I want to fill my time
What is your favorite thing to cook?
I’m such a boring cook and I make myself the same things almost everyday. But my boyfriend is an amazing cook so my favorite thing to eat is anything he makes me, especially his pastas.
How does the light in your apartment make you feel?
My apartment is drenched in sunlight all day. Waking up in the mornings and watching the light fill the living room and move through the house is one of my favorite things and makes me feel so happy and relaxed. Our windows are all tall French windows with diamond cut shapes that create rainbows all around the apartment, it really is such a magical space on a sunny day.
“Watching ideas I have in my head come to life is one of my favorite things.”
How do you feel about the city lately? Has that changed?
I’ve always have mixed feelings about LA, it’s not my favorite city but it’s definitely home for now. On one hand I miss being in a “real city”, I’m from DC so adjusting to the LA sprawl was huge for me, and I definitely miss the change of season, but something about it keeps me coming back. I spend a lot of time traveling and doing extended stays in other cities which helps scratch my itch for somewhere new. When I first moved here I honestly didn’t have really high expectations, but LA surprised me in the best way and the people I’ve met and relationships I’ve developed have been life changing, there’s a reason why its been so hard to permanently leave.
What do you love about being a woman?
Everything! It’s not always easy but being a woman really is such a special experience. The bond I have with other female friends is unlike any other part of my life and is so important to me. The shared understanding and support we all have for each other is so special and something I really cherish in life.

Where do you look for inspiration?
Music and fashion have always been some of my biggest inspirations. I’m always going through old fashion editorials and saving them to look back at or diving into music rabbit holes of discovering artists I’ve never heard of. Piecing together how different artists influenced each other across different mediums and time periods is one of my favorite things and always gets me excited and inspired to create.
What activities do you feel passionate about?
I’m an artist so I’m so passionate about anything I can create with my hands. My main medium is graphite drawing but I also paint, make jewelry, crochet and knit clothing, and so many other things. Watching ideas I have in my head come to life is one of my favorite things.
