Hello from Berlin! I love freedom, travelling, long train rides, Stefan Zweig books, cats, colours, writing postcards, music, and movies à la Woody Allen and Wes Anderson. What makes me really happy is the seaside, sunrises and sunsets and having lots of time!

Taking a step back

Maybe it’s time to get a little more quiet, to take a step back sometimes. And to become a little more we instead of only me. I turn my head and look at the countless tiny, twinkling stars that look like they are being swallowed up soon by the pitch-black evening sky and fall asleep.

“I’ve always been a very restless soul.” Sofia Karlberg talks new “Hold My Love” EP, Moroccan roots and being in the here and now

Describing herself as a bit of a restless soul, the pandemic made her realize about always being on the run, with endless possibilites around each corner, but having a hard time to put two and two together and not really living in the present moment. The realization of all that and relocating from her home city Stockholm to Berlin had a great influence and impact not only on her life but also on her music and new EP.

Worthwile

I had this nice profound conversation with a friend yesterday. About life, about if your small actions can actually really change something. About if it’s worth or wrong to convince someone else about what you believe in. I thought that, even though I try to do certain things to contribute to make a positive impact to the world, at the end it is useless. As the world is so big, and each of us is just such a small part of it so things will never change.

Cover Me in Pink

When the world weighs
heavily on us,
we still one day
need to be
in love with the world
again. And believe that
all the colours will
shine over the grey.

Madam Bandit new single portrays the experience of isolation

Embedded in pop-electro tones mixed with a melancholic touch “Punctured Lungs” is a truly beautiful piece about the hard experience of isolation and depression during Covid. “The isolation I felt leaving my former close-knit community was intense; the Pandemic added another layer on top, a palpable knife to the chest. That was the first time in my life I sought medical intervention for depression. “Punctured Lungs” was written from that experience.”
