Emma Elisabeth wears her heart on her sleeve. Getting ‘Free’ with Jaime’s new release

With his latest single ‘Free’, an unique alternative trap track he collaborated with rapper franniethefirst. The lyrics are inspired by the discussion of how hard it is to be real. “To not hide behind wrong self-expression and fake self-confidence.” We all know that sort of feeling, don’t we? “I wanna be, finally free.” raises the voice the listener out of his maybe self-created prison and reminds us that we shouldn’t live anybody elses life and try to be the best version of ourselves in order to be free.

Nicolas Michaux’s new single “Amusement Park” is an ode to beauty and love

“Through the juxtaposition of happy and painful images, I have tried to express the fragility of beauty and love in the face of the long work of demolition that is underway.” The talented Belgian songwriter and producer constantly deals with the sentimentality of everyday life in his songs. And despite the often melancholic tones, the music never seems heavy and oppressive, but rather inspires like sweet poetry.

One part pop, two parts folk: English songstress Mabes

English songstress Mabes might just be the conduit that bridges the gap between the two unsuspecting regions. One part pop, two parts folk, and more than a dash of Western twang, Mabes is an intricate tapestry draped in unlikely inspiration. Her outre luxe disposition is materialized by the way of her darling vocal instrument and a cherished relationship with her guitar.

Berlin based indie-rock band PICTURES drops powerful new single “It´s OK”

“It’s okay” could be the title of the band’s biography. It’s always a long way to the here and now, and no matter how things go in life, or whatever you decide to do, somehow it´s always good at the end just the way it turns out. That’s how I would interpret the message of the new single It´s OK by Berlin-based indie rock band PICTURES. A classic rock indie song, driven by powerful guitars and drums, along approachable lyrics.

“Boys Don’t Cry” In conversation with who is vince

We talked to Vincent Kottkamp aka who is vince and he reveals that he is an emotional guy, what music he grew up with and where to meet him on a Friday night in Berlin. “I think if we were more in touch with our emotions, and didn’t have the sense that they were a weakness maybe the world would be a better place. It’s cool to open up the dialogue about it, but in a simple way it’s also about falling in love and the vulnerability of that.”

Two Year Vacation’s “Majored In Broken Hearts” takes you on a bittersweet feel-good journey

The five-piece band Two Year Vacation describes itself as a “Swedish band making delicious pop music” and this description could not be summed up better. Coming from a country where you get less hours of sun compared to more Southern countries and therefore probably quite some melancholical moments are bound to occur. Packed in light-footed, airy sound, while the somehow rough vocals drives the songs catchy they definitely serve up a feel good slice of indie pop.

London based songwriter and producer Runrummer drops a pixel art visual for “Nightcaller”

“I wanted to make a music video in person but, due to the pandemic, I had to think of a way to create something special remotely. I’m a big fan of pixel art and was inspired by the music video for ‘Move Your Feet’ by Junior Senior. I connected with Madrid-based pixel animator Apoonto and we hit it off straight away. Our goal was to create a playful game-boy inspired adventure which really vibes with the 80s aesthetic of the song.”

NIGHTBUS’s debut single ”Smalltalk’ reflects on life, struggles and feelings

“Smalltalk is our debut release from a collection of tracks written during the pandemic, writing together we could tune out of the noise, I felt totally unselfconscious which is a testament to our synergy. The lyrics are all drawn from my journals, scribing my dreams and struggles with mental health. I don’t always know how to talk about it but songwriting just flows. The track has a nostalgic feel to it, written with my teenage self in mind.”

Seeking unity through song: A conversation with Jon Foreman of Switchfoot

“This album begins after you’ve disagreed,” says Foreman, “You’ve had the fight, and then realize… we’ve got a long trip ahead of us. We both disagree, and there’s no way we’re changing each other’s minds.” Which is a testament to what the band’s mission has been since they formed in the late 1990s – unity. “Maybe unity is not homogeneity,” Foreman muses, “Maybe unity is people that look and think differently.”
