Already for three years photographer Pablo Gil García and model Alessandra Sironi have been in touch via instagram. “We were talking about to shoot some day but she lives in the north coast of Spain and we only managed to meet for the first time last week. She came to Madrid for work so we finally took this opportunity to take some pictures in this beautiful studio we rented.”

In our fast paced world it has become significantly more difficult to keep this inner sense of calmness and to stay serene even when you don’t get an instant sense of success and remain confident when you don’t get an immediate feedback. We are impatient with ourselves and others too and like that create an environment in which things and people and ourselves cannot develop at its natural speed anymore.

The Stories We Tell Ourselves

The more I pushed the memories away, the more persistent they became. Alone, in the late hours of the night, I found myself searching for that fatal flaw. Maybe my life was too complicated. Maybe I wasn’t attractive enough. Maybe my job wasn’t good enough. Maybe I wasn’t funny, kind or fun enough. These thoughts were painful and unwanted. I needed to push them away, so I would pour myself a glass of whiskey and wait for the anger to come and with it, that sweet amnesia.
