“I wrote ‘En Transit’ while in the process of moving out of an apartment that was shared with a partner to live by myself. I saw this transition to a new home as a space of healing where I could examine difficult feelings like sadness and grief, self-identity and love. I knew I had to go through these in order to start anew.
